Boston Actors Debut Tomorrow

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A newly formed professional theatrical group will make its debut tomorrow night by giving a rarely-performed work by Moliere.

The Actors Playhouse, Inc. will present the comedy "George Dandin, the Harassed Husband" in a production directed by Samuel Hirsch, who, with Alan J. Levitt, founded the group. The Playhouse makes use of a freshly furnished, air-conditioned, and intimate (95- seat) theatre in the Hotel Bostonian.

The group plans to present works by major dramatists that would not easily reach the boards of the large theatres. The Moliere comedy will run until July 22, with performances Tuesday through Sunday, and two evening shows on Fridays and Saturdays.

Following thereafter will be an evening of farces by Georges Courteline, Henri Becque's "La Parisienne," and some short comedies by cheknov. Plans are already being formulated for the group's fall and winter seasons.

Hirsch is chairman of the acting and directing department at Boston University, and Levitt is founder and director of the Actors Workshop.
