Rejected Proposals On Parietal Hours Win Quincy Support

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Quincy House Committee voted Monday night to endorse the HCUA Parietals Committee report, just a few hours after the college-wide council had rejected it for its failure to consider the "broader philosophical principles" underlying parietals.

On a close 5-4 division, the committee endorsed the position of its chairman, Robert T. Kudrle '64, who served on the Parietals Committee. Kudrle maintained that the report purposely avoided philosophical argument and instead offered only limited, practical suggestions which had a chance of adoption.

The opponents of the report condemned the HCUA and the Parietals Committee for falling to present student opinion on the issue. Some members of the minority of four also criticized the specific recommendations of the report as inadequate.

The report requested Friday night parietal hours on all football weekends.
