Phillips Brooks House may turn over $2800 to a Miles College volunteer organization for a teaching project in Birmingham schools next summer, Priscilla Ellis '65, a PBH committee chairman, said last night.
The proposed offer grew out of consultations between PBH and Miles College students during a five-day visit of the southern students which ended yesterday.
The money is left over from foundation contributions for a joint PBH and Miles College project in Birmingham last summer. It would enable continuation of the project by paying the Miles students who participate. They are financially unable to teach on a volunteer basis, Miss Ellis explained.
The three Miles representatives came to Harvard last week as part of a cultural exchange program to get more ideas for a volunteer organization which 14 PBH members helped them form last summer.
