HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
The Episcopal and Congregational chaplaincies at Harvard and Radcliffe will present. "The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" this Sunday afternoon at Christ Church.
This is the first time this Christmas festival will be at Harvard.
The festival, which has been held annually in King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England, for the last 40 years, symbolizes the goodwill between the university and the city. It will include readings of Lessons by President Pusey, Dean Ford, and John H. Finley, '25, Eliot Professor of Creek Literature.
An orchestra composed of Harvard and Radcliffe students will open the presentation at 4 p.m. with Corelli's "Christmas Concerto." The Rev. William J. Schneider and the Rev. Warner R. Traynham of the Episcopal Chaplaincy will lead the opening and closing sections of the service.
Other representatives of Harvard who will read lessons include Catherine Williston, associate dean of Radcliffe, Donald R. Kaplan '66, and Sandra R. Clark '68.
