Goodies from last year's outstanding grid campaign are still rolling in for Harvard football coach John Yovicsin.
Tonight, Yovicsin will receive the Daniel G. O'Connor Award as New England's "Coach of the Year" for 1966. The Gridiron Club of Boston will make the presentation.
Yovicsin took the Crimson, a team rated only mediocre in last year's pre-season forecasts, to a three-way tie for the Ivy League title.
He is being given the award on the strength of Harvard's record of eight wins and one loss. The lone setback did not harm his chances for the honor, since it was to Princeton, a club outside New England.
Harvard's victory over Dartmouth was the deciding factor in the Gridiron Club's balloting. Indian coach Bob Blackman ran a close second.
