Second-baseman Mike Andrews knocked three hits, including his seventh homeer of the season, and drove in the three final, decisive runs.
The victory moves Boston to within two games of the idle Chicago White Sox. It also gave the Sox a two-two split in the series with the A's, and a split in the 12-game home stand. Boston begins a 10-day road trip at Minnesota tonight.
