The Ivy League has ruled Cornell hockey player Bob McGuinn ineligible for the remainder of the season because the junior center signed a tryout agreement with a pro team during his senior year in high school.

United Press International reported that Cornell might be forced to forfeit all its games in which McGuinn appeared, but Harvard sources consider such a move unlikely.

Cornell and Harvard are presently tied for first place in the Ivy League with 7-1 marks. The Big Red's overall mark is 18-1, including a 9-0 win over Harvard in December.

McGuinn signed the agreement in 1964, but the pro club revoked it a month later. McGuinn said he had been told the pact did not affect his amateur status.

Harvard plays Cornell again on February 28 in Ithaca.
