Harvard New College, Harvard's contribation to the Free University movement, opens this week, with courses ranging from the sexual revolution to American sainthood.

Classes in the college will consist of small groups meeting in private rooms, led by faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduates.

Thomas F. Peitigrew, professor of social psychology, will advise a group entitled. "Approaching the White Community: Strategies for Combating White Racism."

Another group leader-John M. Lewis, a Junior Fellow-said of the College. "I have always thought education should be obtained in any possible way." He predicted that he would spend at least two evenings a week on the New College.

Leaders emphasized the flexible nature of the groups. "Study groups can explore any topic," Michael Grafton '71 said. "The whole nature of my group is as nebulous as it sounds," Sandy Bonder '72 explained, referring to his group entitled "Toward Despecialization at Harvard."

The New College, now an official Harvard undergraduate organization, will soon open an office at 52 Dunster Street. Although no foundation funds have been granted, the College hopes for a donation from the Harvard Undergraduate Council.
