The Mail G. E. BOYCOTT

By Boston Coordinator and Benjamin Ross

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

You are no doubt aware of the strike now being held by fourteen unions against the General Electric Company. The outcome of this strike is crucial in deciding the course of the American economy in the next few years. A victory for General Electric would mean that workers' real wages would continue to decline, and would lead to a widespread attempt to weaken unions.

Because of the importance of this strike, and because of G. E.'s refusal to bargain, the unions have taken the extraordinary step of calling for a boycott of all products manufactured by General Electric. They have appealed for the support of the general public, and of students in particular.

We are asking therefore that the CRIMSON not accept advertising from any store that continues to sell G. E. products in defiance of the boycott until the boycott has been called off by the A. F. L.-C. I. O. Coordinated Bargaining Committee. This action in support of the strikers has already been taken by such newspapers as the Jewish Daily Forward of New York.
