The Mail EBAN AND THE ARABS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

Mr. Goldhaber gives as lopsided an analysis of Abba Eban's talk as one could expect. At no time did Mr. Eban touch on anything of importance. He never questioned the validity of Israel's existence in the first place. Eban insinuates that the Arabs were the aggressors, but in fact the Israelis were the first to attack.

Israel may be fighting for her existence but the Arabs are fighting to fulfill the claims of the 1939 White Paper and the Anglo-American Committee Report of 1946-as well as international justice.

For Abba Eban to ignore these problems is to ignore the Palestinian Problem. It is also annoying that Mr. Eban planned his time so poorly that he was unable to allow even a short question period, though he had time for a CRIMSON interview after his talk.

[Mr. Goldhaber's interview was conducted in the car on the way to Mr. Eban's next engagement.
