Editor Arrested For Abortion List

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Ronald Sachs, editor of the University of Florida's student newspaper, was arrested yesterday after the newspaper had published a list of abortion referral services.

Sachs was charged under a 103 year-old Florida law that provides up to one year in prison and $1,000 fine for publishing information on abortion.

Stephen C. O'Connell, president of the University, tried to prevent publication of the article. He said yesterday that Sachs would not be suspended and that he will continue, at least temporarily, as editor of The Florida Alligator.

Sachs, a 21 year-old journalism student, was released on his own recognizance after a preliminary hearing. No trial date was set.
