Nixon Shuns Invitation To New Dunster Satire

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

President Nixon has not responded to an invitation to attend "Nixon!" --an original Dunster House satire premiering Thursday night.

Alan S. Franken '73, author and director of the production, said he sent the invitation over a month ago by registered mail. "We tried to make the invitation as non-abrasive as we could." Franken said yesterday, and added, "Some people were scared that by some freak, Nixon would accept."

Seven other productions will open Thursday: "The Most Happy Fella"' at the Loeb Mainstage. "The Seagull" at the Loeb Ex, and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society's "Trial by Jury" and "The Sorcerer" at Agassiz Theatre.

The other Thursday night productions are: "Coming and Going" at Adams House. "Under Milkwood" at Lowell House, "A Long Day's Journey Into Night" a Quincy House production in the Leverett House Old Library, and the "Taming of the Shrew" at Kirkland House.
