Apollo Has Problems; Capsules Fail to Link

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Only 31/2 hours after its successful launching, Apollo 14 developed trouble which may cause a cancellation of its planned landing on the moon.

Two unsuccessful attempts were made to link up the command ship and the lunar lander. Unless this can be accomplished, the landing will not be possible.

If the landing is not made, the crew members will carry out experiments in the orbit around the moon.

NASA emphasized that there is no danger to the safety of the crew members.

The last U.S. flight to the moon, Apollo 13, was aborted in mid-mission when an oxygen tank exploded.
