Boston Minutemen Reschedule Games

The Boston Minutemen, who had hoped last Tuesday that the club could iron out difficulties with Harvard over the use of the stadium for its home games, announced yesterday that this Saturday's soccer opener against Toronto has been cancelled until later in the season.

The Minutemen were also forced to reschedule the April 24 game against the New York Cosmos, originally scheduled for Schaefer Stadium in Foxboro.

"Negotiations for the use of the desired sites have proved to be too complex to be completed by the original dates that were announced," the North American Soccer League club said in a statement yesterday.

"A swift and successful conclusion is hoped for by all parties concerned in the dealings in the near future."

The University, in a statement released Wednesday by Daniel Steiner '54, general counsel to the University, said there will be no contract with the Minutement unless the club "proved security for performance of their obligations," as they have so far failed to do.
