Armed Thief Steals Student Automobile At Leverett House

By Jaleh Pooroshasb

An armed man stole a car and $2 from a Harvard graduate student as the student left Leverett House early yesterday morning.

The man, who has not been identified, pointed a gun at William A. Huffman, a graduate student in Physics, as Huffman got into a car parked behind Leverett.

He demanded the car's ignition key and Huffman's money and drove the '69 Pontiac toward Boston.

William D. Cramer, owner of the car, said yesterday the incident occurred about 2 a.m. yesterday.

No one was injured during the incident.

Cambridge and University police spokesmen yesterday refused to release any information about the case, but Cramer said the police suspect that the thief will have to abandon the car because he does not have a key to the gas tank.
