Jeffrey Wolcowitz assistant professor of Economics, will yield his duties as head section leader for the course. While Otto Eckstein, Warburg Professor of Economics, is the head lecturer for Soc Anal 10, Wlocowitz hires and trains teachers and is responsible for the curriculum.

Wolcowitz will split the course's administration next year with Larry H. Goulder '73, who accepted an appointment last month as assistant professor of Economics. The five year appointment includes three years as head section leader of Soc Anal 10.

"He'll be an incredible success around here," Eckstein said this week. Recommendations from Stanford, where Goulder received his doctorate and taught as visiting professor of economics for two years, cited him as "the best teacher at Stanford," Eckstein added.

Goulder is up certain how much he will change the structure or curriculum, but said, "I don't think that up to now there's been enough focus on the supply side. You have to understand the supply side to understand inflation," he said.

Wolcowitz, who has taught sections of Soc Anal 10 since, said, "The spirit of the course will stay the same, but the details of it will reflect a new section leader."

A requirement for Economics and Social Studies concentrators Soc Anal 10 is perennially the University's largest, Currently, more than 900 students are enrolled in 37 sections of the course.

When Goulder takes over, Wolcowitz said he will likely teach other Economics Department courses.
