The Harvard men's sailing team opened its season with a fifth place finish in the Admiral Moore Trophy at SUNY Maritime over the weekend.
No races were held on Saturday, as windy weather cancelled competition.
Yesterday, however, six races took place in each division. Going into the last rotation of the day, the Crimson had a hold on second place in a field of 15 teams.
When the final races were over, however, Harvard had dropped to fifth. Its 68 points on the day placed the Crimson behind King's Point (48), Navy (52), Old Dominion University (59) and the University of Rhode Island (65).
As and Bs
Sailing in the A Division for Harvard were Gordon Burnes and Petra Schumann. The pair finished second within the division, racking up a pair of first-place finishes in their six races.
Peter Wagner and Jeff Kurland represented the Crimson in the B Division.
