Fellow Discusses Parental Involvement

By Matthew G.H. Chun, Contributing Writer

Lisa Dodson, a Radcliffe Public Policy Institute fellow, spoke yesterday at the Law School about parental involvement in children's education.

Dodson discussed her work in the Mission Hill Program during the early 1990s.

The program attempted to involve parents more in educational aspects of their children's lives, and especially focused on teaching children to read.

Dodson recently published Don't Call Us Out of Name: The Untold Lives of Women and Girls in Poor America, a study of the lives of women and young girls living below the poverty line.
