Hockey Tourney To Be Broadcast

ATT3-Channel 3 on Cambridge cable-and WHRB 95.3 FM will both be broadcasting the gold medal game of the IIHF Women's World Hockey Championships live at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

WHRB will also be broadcasting the tournament semifinal between the United States and Russia beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, and the bronze medal game at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. ATT3 will show the U.S.-Russia semifinal on tape immediately preceding the gold medal game. The other semifinal between Canada and Finland will be played Saturday at 4 p.m.

The U.S. and Canada clinched their respective pools in the round-robin portion of the tournament with comfortable wins yesterday. Harvard junior defenseman Angela Ruggiero scored the sixth goal for the U.S. in its victory over Finland. Harvard junior Jennifer Botterill and senior Tammy Shewchuk, linemates on the Canadian National Team, each had two goals and an assist in Canada's 13-0 win over Sweden. Botterill leads the Canadians in scoring with five goals and two assists through three games.
