People around the U.S. crowd stores on the Friday after Thanksgiving, known as “Black Friday”, to take advantage of the myriad of deals and savings that are offered for a short amount of time.

Cultural Survival Bazaar

Jose Buenaventura Gonzalez Gutierrez weaves an Oaxacan rug at an Indigenous craft bazaar hosted by Cultural Survival, an organization that works for indigenous rights and cultures around the world, Sunday.

UC Elections Debate

Students debate the cause and implications of the recent UC elections at the UC executive meeting. The UC election commission was present and gave individual reports of the events of last week.

Ned Landin performs solo in the Pit of Harvard Square Sunday night. Cambridge will soon host its Folk Music Festival and the performers are preparing to fill the Square with music.

Mad Men Fans celebrate the season finale of the AMC show yesterday at Noir, a bar in the Charles Hotel. Harvard Square cupcake bakery Sweet also held a Mad Men event featuring special confections.

Environmental Campaign

The Leadership campaign brings people together in Boston Common Sunday to sleep in tents outside of Boston State House as a symbol using fewer energy-internsive resources.

Quincy House 50th

A big band plays swing music for students as they dance at Quincy’s fiftieth year anniversary. Students enjoyed the music of a jazz singer, as well as the large number of Hostess cupcakes and desserts that were served.
