A recent paper says: "It is conceded that he has considerable ability, but he is so very soft, and so utterly lacks strength of character, that he cannot help making himself and his 'movement' ridiculous. It is said that he applied to Carte the other day to supply him gratis with a private secretary and a valet, and that his request was politely refused."
