Freshman Crew.

The candidates for the freshman crew have now gone into strict training. As was expected, the long rest which the men had in the vacation has had a bad effect for the time being upon the character of their work. The men are now loose and unsteady, but the coaches expect soon to get them into form.

The 'varsity coaches will spend much time with the freshmen this year. D. R. Vail, L. S., will take the men in hand and superintend the coaching.

The first squad of the crew is rowing as follows: Sprague, stroke; Phelps, 7; Sleeper, 6; Endicott, 5; Elder, 4; Lord, 3; Lee, 2; Little, bow. Other men still with the crew are: Eakins, Davenport, Fox, Skerrye, Pierson, Barton, Kennedy, Dyer, Dunlop, Fields, Carpenter, Rantoul and Connor.
