The candidates for the Pennsylvania and Cornell crews have gone into training and are at present working under the coaching of Woodruff and Courtney respectively.
At Pennsylvania all but stroke of last year's crew are trying for positions. They are Hollingshead, Beck, J. Wagonhurst, Marshall, O. Wagonhurst, Wilson and Waters. The most promising of the new men are Robrecht, Wiley, Woodruff, Mines, Bull, and Oliver.
The work at present is confined to the tanks and gymnasium. This will be continued until March, when the crew will go on the river for the rest of the season. In addition to the usual race with Cornell, Pennsylvania will enter the Newark regatta on Decoration Day and may row the naval cadets at Annapolis.
At Cornell there are plenty of men who have rowed before trying, but very few new candidates. Freeborn, Collins, Hagar, Robbins, Sharpe, Troy and Hall, of last year's crew, are back, and Dyer, Matthews, Hamilton, Guilford and
