BICYCLE ROAD RACE.

The Ten Mile Record Beaten in the Run Yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon the Cycling Association held its annual ten mile road race. The race was very successful, the former record being broken by two riders.

A large crowd gathered to watch the start which was held in front of the Gymnasium at 4 o'clock.

F. S. Elliot, who was one of the scratch men, won the time prize, coming in first in 29m. 42 4/5s. This lowered the record for the course 1m. 57 4/5s. This record is especially remarkable, for Elliot when about half way over the course got the wheel of his bicycle caught in a rut and was thrown, scraping his knee badly.
