The bicycle squad, under the coaching of Mr. Corcoran, has been making good progress in preparation for the coming meets during the past few weeks. Speed and endurance have been steadily developed, and the men as a whole are a much faster lot than they were a short time ago.
There are now twenty men with the squad, the most promising being Hewitt, Hunt, White, Harbeck and Brinckerhoff. Only two men are at training table with the Mott Haven squad, but two more will be taken this week or next and others will follow from time to time, according as they show improvement. The daily practice consists principally of distance riding and sprinting, each man doing what is most beneficial to his especial needs. The trial races for the Pennsylvania dual games will be held in a few days to chose the four men to compete in the bicycle events.
