No Names Win the Leiter Cup Series.

The scrub baseball series, in which sixteen nines have competed, ended on Saturday afternoon, with the victory of the "No Names" over the "Farmers" by the score of 8 to 7.

The game was interesting throughout as at no time was either team able to gain much of a lead over the other. All the runs were made before the sixth inning, after which both teams were unable to bunch their hits.

The playing of the nines was good, much better in fact than might be expected of scrub teams. Harris, for the Farmers, and Galbraith for the No Names pitched well, the former striking out ten men. For the Farmers, Bouve and Adams played their positions strongly besides batting out timely hits. The score by innings follows:

Innings. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

No Names, 1 0 0 4 0 3 0 0 0-8

Farmers, 0 1 2 2 1 1 0 0 0-7

Hits-No Names, 9; Farmers, 10. Errors, No Names, 7; Farmers, 8. Struck out-by Galbraith, 7; by Harris, 10. Double play-Robinson and Slade.

The Leiter cups will go to all the men who played on the winning team on Saturday, with the exception of Garrison, who played to fill the vacancy caused by the absence of Morrison, the regular fielder.
