Freshmen Defeat Sophomores.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman nine defeated the Sophomores yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field by a score of 6 to 5.

The Freshmen scored all of their six runs in the first three innings on hits and errors, and prevented the Sophomores from getting a man beyond third base. Winsor, who pitched for the Sophomores, steadied down in the fourth inning and after that pitched an extraordinary game. He struck out in all ten men and gave but two bases on balls. The Sophomores scored one run in the fourth inning and four in the seventh on a base on balls, a base hit, and a wild throw by Story. Clarkson at this point replaced Comins in the box and by steady pitching prevented the Sophomores from scoring again. 1903.   a.b.  r.  b.h.  p.o.  a.  e.
