LIGHT FOOTBALL PRACTICE.

Two Hours of Preliminary Work--Short Line-Up--Both Elevens Score.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The preliminary practice yesterday was the longest so far this year, lasting for nearly two hours. The first eleven went through a great deal of signal practice in which the formation of the plays was carefully developed. This preliminary work showed a slight improvement, the backs and linemen working much better together. There was a slight tendency to fumble, and for the tackles to start ahead of the play.

Kernan, Putnam and Bowditch were out in football clothes, but did not get in the line-up. All the men who played in the West Point game except Matthews were out yesterday. Besides Lewis and Waters the following graduate coaches were out: E. N. Wrightington '97, W. L. Garrison '97, N. S. Cabot '98, G. W. Bouve '98, R. W. Emmons '95 and P. D. Haughton '99.

In the 15 minute line-up with the second eleven, the first secured a touchdown by steady gains through the line. The second then braced up, forced the first eleven back, and scored a safety on Mifflin's fumble of a punt. The line-up: FIRST ELEVEN.  SECOND ELEVEN.
