COMPLETE TENNIS VICTORY.

HAVERFORD, Oct. 2.-- Harvard won both the singles and the doubles championships in the intercollegiate tennis tournament which ended today on the grounds of the Haverford Cricket Club, and thereby secures two more points towards the intercollegiate cup. The courts were wet and heavy after a day of bard rain. In the semi-finals of the singles, E. W. Leonard '03 defeated R. Bishop 2L., 10-8, 3-6, 6-1, and W. J. Clothier '04 defeated W. S. Warland '03, 6-3, 7-5.

The match between Leonard and Bishop was closely played throughout and was won only by Leonard's steadiness and superior net playing. In the match with Warland, Clothier won by his usual accuracy and steadiness. In the finals of the singles, Clothier defeated Leonard, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. The match was close and well played, although Clothier was slightly handicapped by an ankle which he wrenched early in the afternoon.

The final round of the doubles match was won by Clothier and Leonard, who defeated Wright and Larned of Princeton, 6-1, 6-4, 5-7, 7-5. The match was very even and hard fought. Wright and Larned won the third set by excellent tennis, but the superior steadiness of the Harvard team won the match. Clothier and Leonard won the last set after having the score 5-0 against them, showing great brilliancy and steadiness.
