The Clark lectures which Professor Wendell will deliver next year at Trinity College, Cambridge University, England, will be given between September and April, while he is absent from the University on sabbatical leave. There will be in all twelve lectures, on some stated period of English literature. This is the first time that an American has been invited to deliver these lectures, which have been given during past years by the greatest scholars of England.
