Captain Charles Mason Fuller, of Boston, will give an illustrated lecture on "The Panama Canal," in the Living Room of the Union, at 8 o'clock this evening. Commencing with the story of the discovery of the Pacific by Balboa, Mr. Fuller will summarize the history of the projects to connect the Atlantic and Pacific. He will describe the present condition of the Panama canal, the Eads ship railway, the Nicaragua route, Grey-town, Conchuda dam, San Juan river, and Lake Nicaragua. Through the courtesy of Admiral Walker, President of the Isthmian Canal Comission, Mr. Fuller has secured very recent views of the work already accomplished on both the Nicaragua and Panama routes.
The lecture will be open to members of the Union only.
