Dr. S. M. Crothers h.'99, will speak on "The Church and Philanthropy," this evening at 7.30 o'clock under the auspices of the Religious Union, in the room of the Union, on the third floor of Phillips Brooks House.
Dr. Crothers graduated from Princeton in 1874, and since 1894 has been pastor of the First Unitarian Church of Cambridge. The honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity was conferred upon him by the University in 1899. Dr. Crothers is the author of several books, among which are "The Understanding Heart," and "The Gentle Reader."
The address will be open to members of the University.
