Forty-five candidates for field positions on the Freshman baseball nine reported in the Cage yesterday afternoon. The work, which consisted of drill in handling ground balls, followed by a short run, was under the supervision of C. W. Randall '05, T. F. Murphy 1L., and L. P. Pieper 2L. The field squad will practice daily at 4 o'clock, and the battery candidates will continue to report with the University squad.

W. M. Van Winkle has been appointed manager, and A. F. Hetherington assistant manager of the team.
