Hockey Practice Yesterday

In a 35-minute line-up on Spy Pond yesterday afternoon the University hockey team defeated the second team by the score of 3 to 0. The individual stick work and passing were better than at any previous time this season; but the forwards lost many chances to score through inaccurate shooting and, on the offense, failed to play together. The lack of team play may be partly accounted for by the absence of side boards which also resulted in much time being wasted in regaining the puck. The first team's defense played hard and the men kept their positions well. Some remarkable stops were made by the goal guards.

After the practice game the forwards on each team changed sides, and an additional period of 10 minutes was played, in which neither team scored.

The line-up: FIRST TEAM.  SECOND TEAM. Pell, l.e.  r.e., A. Fraser-Campbell Townsend, l.c.  r.c., Edgell Macleod, r.c.  l.c., Niles, Lovering Briggs, M. Newhall, r.e.  l.e., Crosby, Briggs Harding, D. Newhall, c.p.  c.p., Sampson, Chalifoux Willetts, p.  p., Wagstaff Ivy, g.  g., Francis, Washburn

A meeting of all members of last year's class hockey teams will be held in the Living Room of the Union at 7 o'clock this evening to elect captains of the class teams. Dates will be arranged at once for the interclass championship series, and practice for all the class teams will begin on the second rink in the Stadium as soon as the ice permits.
