Yale Track Team Defeated Princeton

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yale defeated Princeton in a very closely contested dual track meet at Princeton last Saturday by the score of 54 to 50. At the beginning of the pole-vault, the last event of the day, the score was tied at 48. Dray of Yale won this at 11 ft., 3 in., thereby securing the meet. No now records were made, but the quarter-mile was won by Coholan of Yale in the excellent time of 50 2-5s. Parsons easily won the half-mile in 2m., 2 2-5s., and Knox jumped 22 ft., 2 in. in the broad jump. Berman, who won the shot-put for Yale, made only 40 ft., 11 in.

The Yale team was especially strong in field events, and middle distance runs, securing first places in all these events. It was fairly weak in the sprints and hurdles, and weakest of all in the distance runs, in both of which Princeton won first and second places.
