The preliminary trials for the Pasteur Medal will be held in Upper Dane Hall, Friday evening, beginning at 7.30 o'clock. At these trials six men will be retained to take part in the final contest, January 14. Each man will make a five-minute speech in English upon the subject of the contest, "The Policy of France and Morocco." The judges will be L. Allard, of the French Department, professor R. M. Johnston, M. C. Leckner '07, as the deputy of Professor G. P. Baker '87, the deputy of Professor I. L. Winter '86, and a representative appointed by the Cercle Francais. Notes, but not manuscript, will be allowed. Although entries will be received at the time of the trials, all prospective candidates are requested to send their names to F. Schenck, Holworthy 7, before Thursday night, stating preference, if any, of time for their trials. The names with the hours allotted will be posted on the door of Dane Hall Friday morning.
