1914 WILL PLAY CRESCENTS

In Arena at 6.45.--Boston Hockey Club Defeated Freshmen Yesterday.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman hockey team will play its second regular game of the season against the Crescent Hockey Club in the Boston Arena this evening at 6.45 o'clock, instead of in the Stadium tomorrow afternoon, as was originally planned. In its first regular game played last Saturday the 1914 team defeated Rindge Manual Training School 5 to 3. In a practice game played with the Crescents last week, however, the latter won by the score of 5 to 1. The Freshmen have improved in team-play since that time and although defeated again yesterday in a practice game are good individually, so a close game should result.

The line-ups will be as follows: HARVARD 1914.  CRESCENT HOCKEY CLUB. Hopkins, l.e.  r.e., King Sortwell, l.c.  r.c., Talford Williams, r.c.  l.c., Tuck Woods, r.e.  l.e., Winton Wingate, c.p.  c.p., Skilton Willetts, p.  p., Davenport Carnochan, g.  g., Rock

Practice Game Yesterday.

The Freshman team played a 35-minute practice scrimmage with the Boston Hockey Club in the Arena yesterday afternoon and was defeated by the score of 7 to 0. The Freshmen were slow in starting when they received the puck and were almost always overtaken before they reached the Boston defence. Adams and Sortwell carried the puck well, but were unable to cope with the greater experience and speed of their opponents. The Boston Hockey Club was strong on the defence and the Freshmen were never dangerous.
