Rain Prevents Hard Work.--Wigglesworth at Quarterback on Team A.

A wet gridiron seriously interferred with football practice yesterday afternoon. Coach Haughton gave the men a long blackboard talk, after which team A went into the baseball cage for signal practice. The men went through their regular formations to perfect the old plays and then tried out a number of new ones. The work was very snappy throughout. While the squad was at work in the Cage, the second-string backs were given punting practice in the Stadium.

Following the preliminary drill teams A and B were lined up against each other for a dummy scrimmage, the backs being given practice in picking holes in the line. The teams had the regular line-up the only change being a shift of Potter from team A to team B, and a corresponding shift of Wigglesworth to quarterback on team A. From kick formations the teams were put through offensive and defensive plays, breaking through, and blocking. All the work was on the Freshman field as the Stadium gridiron was to wet for play
