The Fencing Club has been practicing in the Hemenway Gymnasium since the first of October. About 20 men, 12 of whom fenced last year, although not on the University team are out; and it is hoped that, as the season advances, this number will increase. Freshmen are particularly urged to report for practice as soon as possible.

In March a Freshman meet will be held, and later in the same month a novice meet for which all persons who have not fenced more than two years and who have not won any prize are eligible. In April the bouts for the University championship will be held. New men may obtain free instruction for the first two weeks. Tickets for the year are issued by the Athletic Association and may be obtained at Leavitt & Peirce's or at the Fencing Room in the Gymnasium.

The University team is composed of three men who make the trip to New York in the Easter vacation to compete in the Intercollegiate meet. Dual meets will also be held with Columbia, Yale. West Point, Annapolis, and Pennsylvania. As last year M. Leslabay, formerly instructor to the French Army and a member of the Salle d'Armes is instructing the squad.
