Professor George Herbert Palmer '64 will preach in Appleton Chapel tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock.

Professor Palmer, who has recently been appointed Western exchange professor for 1912-13, has been connected with the University for 42 years. He received his A.M. in 1867 and graduated from the Andover Theological School in 1870. The University of Michigan, Union College, Harvard and Dartmouth conferred upon him the degree of LL.D., in 1894, 1895, 1906, and 1909 respectively. He also received the degree of Litt.D. from Western Reserve in 1897. Professor Palmer began his connection with the University Faculty in 1870 as a tutor in Greek and became Alford professor of natural religion, moral philosophy, and civil polity in 1889. Besides being an authority on questions of ethics, he is the author of several books, some of which are: "The Glory of the imperfect," "Self Cultivation in English," and "The Field of Ethics."
