BOXING TOURNEY IN FEBRUARY

Practice In New Sport to Begin Immediately After Vacation.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Over 30 boxing enthusiasts gathered in the Trophy Room of the Union last evening to discuss plans for the proposed boxing tournament. The number that attended and the interest shown made the tentative program a thing of certainty and only the final completion of the arrangements for the tournament is left to be carried out.

E. H. Clark '96, opened, the meeting with a few comments on the general purpose of the introduction of boxing into regular University athletics. S. A. Robinson '16 outlined the plans of the coming months. The men will report immediately after the Christmas recess and practices will begin at once. It will culminate in the tournament near the end of February. Unless more Freshmen come out than reported last night, there will be no separate tournament for 1919.

Arrangements are being made with the Athletic Association, whereby about half of the cost of boxing lessons will be paid by that organization for any who which to go in for the sport.
