KELLEHER EASILY DEFEATS RAND

Takes University Singles Championship by Out placing Opponent.

H. G. M. Keeleher '18 won the University championship singles tennis tournament by defeating W. Rand 1G, 6-1, 6-1, 7-5, on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon. Kelleher played well, although a high wind made good tennis difficult. The match was marked by very little rallying Kellerher seemed to have it his own way, driving deep into Rand's court for points. And although Rand made a many good placement shots, Kelleher seemed always to be able to make a remarkable recovery and win the point.

Three doubles matches brought the doubles tournament almost to the third round. P. E. Stevenson '19 and F. W. Hatch '19 defeated W. B. Stevens '19 and G. emery '19, 6-1, 6-0, and were defeated in the next round by H. R. Guild '17 and C. Jennings 1L, 6-2, 7-5. T. W. Whitall '17 and J. V. Austin '18 won by default.

The following doubles matches will be played Monday:

2 o'clock; T. W. Whitall '17 and J. V. Austin '18 vs. W. Chandler 1L and E. A. Niles 1L, winnerts to play W. Rand 1G and R. C. Rand '19 at 3.30.

At 4.30 o'clock; P. F. LeFevre '18 and H. T. Davis '18 vs. D. R. Scott 1G and J. R. Moore 2G.
