The interclass eight-oared rowing championship will be decided on the Charles River Basin this afternoon at 4 o'clock, when the Senior, Junior, and Sophomore crews will race. The winning crew will meet the Yale junior class crew on May 20.

The class crews have been working hard in preparation for this contest, and they are evenly matched. The Sophomore crew seems to have a shade the better of its rivals, for it has a larger number of candidates from which to draw. Both Sophomore A and B will enter the race, since the work of this second crew has been consistently good all year.

In the practice of the University crews yesterday afternoon, both A and B took long rows, while the third University had a short brush with the Union Boat Club eight, the latter finishing in the lead by a half-length. The second and third University boats have two more days of practice before they leave for Philadelphia to compete in the American Henley.

The orders of the class crews which will race today are as follows:

Senior.--Stroke, W. B. B. Wilson; 7, S. M. Foster; 6, J. H. Volkmann; 5, G. F. Talbot; 4, R. Wood; 3, R. L. Gifford; 2, F. H. L. Whitmarsh; bow, E. Holt; cox, W. F. Enright.
