UNION WILL BE SCENE OF BOXING TOURNAMENT

Final Bouts Held There Next Friday, Preliminary Matches in Hemenway.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The finals of the annual boxing tournament will be held in the Union and not in the Gymnasium, as previously announced, on the evening of Friday, March 9. The preliminary bouts, however, will take place in the Gymnasium during the afternoon of March 8. Blue books have been placed at the Union, Hemenway Gymnasium and Leavitt and Peirce's, in which men are to sign up. In the heavy-weight and lightweight contests, 12 ounce gloves are to be used, and in the other classes eight ounce gloves. These are comparatively heavy gloves for boxing and will insure against injury to any of the contestants. No professional seconds will be allowed and all University men who wish to act as seconds should communicate with L. H. Bevier '17. The B. A. A. will furnish its boxing ring, referees and judges.

All men who intend to participate must pass a strength test before Wednesday, March 7. A standard of 500 only will be required in this test. If men wish instruction in boxing, tickets for lessons may be obtained at half-price at the H. A. A. Gloves and punching bags are available at the Gymnasium.
