The entry of the combined Cambridge and Oxford teams promises to make the twenty-sixth annual relay carnival of the University of Pennsylvania, to be held on Franklin Field April 30 and May 1, more interesting than ever before. The chairman of the track committee states that a combined team will be sent from England. Because of the great losses sustained by Oxford and Cambridge during the war, Pennsylvania suggested the idea of a combination team.
The postponement of the games, which are to be held a week later than usual, will undoubtedly favor Harvard as well as some other northern colleges, such as Cornell and Syracuse, because in previous years it has been found difficult to get the teams into perfect condition so early in the season.
The Oxford relay team has always created a sensation, and in 1913 in the fourmile relay race against Pennsylvania the English four won by inches.
