Boylston Preliminaries Tonight

Preliminary trials for the Boylston Prize Speaking Contest will be held this evening at 8 o'clock in Sever 11. These trials are held in preparation for the public competition in which will take place on Thursday evening, May 13. The prises were founded in 1810 by Ward Nichols Boylston 83, who gave $1000 for the promotten of public speaking at the University. Any member of the Junior and Senior classes in the College is eligible to compete for the prizes which consist of two first prizes of $3 each and three second prizes fo $22 each. About 32 men have already signified to Dean I H R Buggs, who is in charge of the prizes their to compete and a close contest is expected.
