FRESHMEN OPPOSE ST. GEORGE'S

Heavy Schoolboy Team Comes to 1924 Athletic Building for Game

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon the Freshman basketball five went through a short, fast scrimmage in preparation for the game with the St. George's team this afternoon at 3 in the Freshman Athletic Building. The Rhode Islanders have a heavy team, but they have not been very successful thus far, having been defeated by the fast Worcester North High School quintet which the Freshmen defeated at the first of the season. They should, however, prove strong opponents.

The 1924 combination has been working well, with D. H. Stevens, Captain L. Gordon and J. H. Sipp in the forward and center positions respectively, while J. L. Rudolfsky and I. Black, the Backs, have been holding opposing forwards well in check. Captain Phelps of the St. George team is the best all around man, and he is backed up by a well balanced scoring machine.

Thus far the Freshmen have won three victories on their own floor, and this afternoon's contest should be well worth watching. HARVARD 1924.  ST. GEORGE'S. Gordon (captain), r.f.  l.g., Alger Stevens, l.f.  r.g., Ward Sipp, c.  c., Phelps (captain) Black, r.g.  l.f., Almirall, Rennord Rudolfsky, l.g.  r.f., Gamble
