HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
Tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the City of Cambridge will celebrate its seventy-fifth anniversary. The city is already extensively decorated, and meetings, concerts, and parades are scheduled for the next few days.
At 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, the celebration will open with a mass meeting on the Cambridge Common. In case of rain, Gordon's Central Square Theatre will be used. A band will render selections, and several prominent men will speak. The list includes Governor Channing H. Cox, Congressman Dallinger, Mayor Edward W. Quinn, Mr. James T. Barrett, President of the City Council, and Rev. Raymond W. Calkins D.D., Pastor of the First Congregational Church.
