PLOT AND CAST FOR PI ETA'S ANNUAL MUSICAL PRODUCTION ANNOUNCED

TO HAVE PUBLIC PERFORMANCES AFTER CHRISTMAS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Modern football in ancient Egypt is the subject of the Pi Eta's annual play by R. D. Gerould '24, to be produced publicly after the Christmas recess.

In a prologue before the beginning of the play proper, Andrew Carlton '16, a Harvard quarterback; and Mary Stevens Blair, a Fenway divorcee, appear in the realm of King Mud at the bottom of the Charles River. The King refuses to release them from drowning until they have amused him by acting a Shakespearian tragedy with a happy ending.

The first act is supposed to follow the plot of "Antony and Cleopatra" with some original variations, musical numbers and specialties. In the second act the struggle between Caesar and Antony is settled on the football field with Cleopatra playing. Cleopatra forfeits the game, but in a return encounter Antony saves the day by a play which he secures from a soothsayer. By a twist of dialogue the misunderstanding between Antony and Cleopatra is cleared up, the desired happy ending is achieved, and King Mud grants the pair their freedom.

The cast and chorus of the play is as follows: King Mud, King of the Golden River,  Curtis Nelson '24 Aqua Pura, Debutante Daughter of King Mud,  Richard Wait '23 Aqua Fortis, Only son of the King,  C.
