COUNCIL ACTS ON SEVERAL MATTERS OF MINOR MOMENT

The election of two new members, the appointment of a representative to assist the proctors in choosing Freshman nominees for class committees, and the approval of the award of a major "H" to L. F. Daley '27, were among the matters transacted by the Student Council at a meeting last night.

Daley, captain of his Freshman team, and a regular guard on the footbal team in his Sophomore year, has been kept out of the letter games for the last three seasons by illness and injuries. On the recommendation of C. D. Coady '27, captain of this year's team, and Arnold Horween '21, University football coach, he has been awarded his letter, with the necessary approval of the Student Council.

Sturgis to Confer With 1930

G. P. Sturgis '27 was the Freshman Committee appointee. He will confer with the proctors of the Freshman dormitories and choose a list of Freshman nominees for the offices on the various class committees. Regular Freshman elections for these committees will take place later in the year.

William Ashley Magie 2d, '28, of Chicago, III, and Geoffrey Platt '27, of New York City, were elected members of the Student Council. Magie was recently chosen Secretary-Treasurer of the Junior class, and Platt is captain of the University crew.

Eight representatives chosen by L. F. Daley '27 from the college at large will speak on aspects of Harvard life next week at a meeting of the New England Federation of Harvard Clubs, to be held at the Harvard Club of Boston.

Alexander Donald '27 was chosen Chairman of the Back-to-Cambridge Day, the date of which will be announced later. The first Back-to-Cambridge Day was held last spring. At the time it was proposed to make this an annual event, and it is expected that the usual program of sight-seeing, athletics, and speeches, will again be followed.
